Knowing what to do or where to start can be overwhelming, sure - but one good way to start tackling this issue is by understanding your space, budget and more importantly your own style, so that you are happy with what you finally end up with.

 The living room is the first impression of your home, and we understand that as you change so does your taste and over time you will want to add a few pieces or remove them. To help you with this living room interior design dilemma, let’s discuss a few things that might help you.

Sofas

Sofa is crucial, where else will you Netflix and Chill? Its importance cannot be understated, it is the single most important piece of furniture you can own. It is where you will entertain guests, lounge, take a nap or laze when you are sick. Chairs

Besides offering seating space, chairs add a contrast of colour and fabric to your living room aesthetic.  Chairs like their bigger contemporary sofas are incredibly diverse, even more so than sofas to be honest and like sofas try to make sure they are sustainable, because chairs for your home are an investment and an extension of the living room aesthetic so we consider it a good idea to follow the maxim - splurge a little now, save a lot later.

Side Tables

Depending on the height of the sofa or chair, you can add an end table or console table to the living room. Go for natural wooden tables that are sleek and simple, but you can also go a highly ornate route for a more turn of the century aesthetic, maybe you could even go for a really sleek high grade metal for a futuristic feel, but do make it matches the other furniture.  

Decor

The option for miscellaneous decor are many, one that comes to mind is a bookshelf or a decor stand to display your erudition and memorabilia, while tying that look in with your end table, but make sure that your bookshelf or decor stand is well maintained.

Natural wood and close packed corners during the rainy season are a welcome sign for mould. You also need to make sure that the area behind and in –between is vacuumed regularly to keep out the millions of dust particles that will eventually breed the dreaded dust bunnies that haunt the corners and the underbellies of your furniture.

Another little marvel is the wall art, make sure it’s something that really gets you going when you see it, or puts a little smile on your face, its uniqueness should be undoubted by which we mean it should have a personal touch to it. An area rug is the final little sprinkle to your iving room that just makes it look like the complete package, make sure it accents the colour of your sofa to really bring out the colour scheme you are going for.
